Prud’hon Copy 24 x 18 Charcoal

Copy drawing is one of the greatest ways to hone your craft.  Observing how old master’s painted and saw, and making specific optical judgments to create your own copy does wonders for your vision as an artist.  I never truly appreciated the drawings of this particular master until I saw several in person at the Louvre in Paris.  I still hate Prud’hon’s rendering of feet but the attention to modeling  I learned from this copy is paramount.
